Give me someone who cares how I'm feelin'
Who when I'm pissed at something, s/he cares.
Give me someone who notices when I'm upset,
Especially when I make it clear.
Give me someone that when I talk about the bad stuff,
S/he will listen and show some empathy.
Give me someone who will let me tell the same story twice, without sayin' a word,
just 'cause I do that sometimes.
Give me someone who will ask me about me,
so I'm not the only one doin' the asking.
Give me someone who will remember what's going on in my life,
and the stories I tell, and how I feel about something. Give me someone who will remember.
Give me someone that I know is lookin' and listenin' and thinkin' right back at me, since I'm not a goddamn potted plant.
