YOU.

YES, YOU.

STOP WHAT YOU'RE DOING!

#1. CLICK ON THIS VIDEO.

#2. CLICK THE RESOLUTION ICON (LITTLE THING THAT LOOKS LIKE A FLOWER BETWEEN THE WORD BUBBLE ICON AND THE LITTLE CLOCK ICON ON THE LOWER RIGHT) AND CLICK THE RESOLUTION UP TO AT LEAST 720, IF YOU CAN, 1080. YOU MIGHT HAVE TO HIT PAUSE WHILE THE LITTLE WHEEL STOPS SPINNING (MEANING THAT THE HD HAS CAUGHT UP).

#3. THEN GO FULL SCREEN.

#4. WATCH THE WHOLE THING. SOUND ISN'T NECESSARY, SO FEEL FREE TO MUTE IT IF YOU'RE NOT ALONE/NOT FEELING SOUND.

Jesus fucking Christ, wasn't that magical? These videos are the closest thing we have to a time machine (right now) and this is the highest resolution I've ever seen on one. Bonus is the fact the camera is attached to the car/wagon so you really feel like you're there, riding along the street.

I found this a few weeks ago and I'm still not over it. It's just... what... wow!

I love the way people and horse-drawn carriages cavalierly (heh, you see what I did thar?) pass directly in front of streetcars and autos? Wowzer. That really is incredible. Most old films I've seen are jerky from being shown at the wrong speed (or something). Thanks for this!

I'm so glad you liked it! It blew my mind. I laughed since the top YouTube comment is something like "Let's play 'count how many narrowly missed accidents you see'!" which... yeah. I also like how people didn't treat cars with any kind of caution, as they didn't know yet that they could be hit/run over (presumably that innovation came later).
