For my fellow pin-up/vintage/Marilyn Monroe/classic film fans:

Here is a particularly gorgeous entry of her various pin-up and nude photography shoots. If you, like I, are still trying to wipe the memory of the desecration made by Linday Lohan (Bert Stern, what were you thinking?!) of Marilyn's last photo shoot a few years ago, this is a must-see.

i saved the one to disk of her with in a black robe with a coffee cup. such a beautiful woman. it struck me, looking at the pictures, that nowadays they'd pump her full of silicone to make her more bosomy. idiotic hollywood...

Silicone and botox and lipo.... *sad sigh*

BTW, did you see that an 18-year-old is getting Botox (http://www.usmagazine.com/celebritynews/news/teen-singer-charice-gets-botox-for-glee-debut-2010197)? Jesus Christ!

When I first saw the "Lindsey" take on Marilyn's last photoshoot, I wasn't ZOMG OFFENDED but even I knew what a shitstorm that could be. I mean, this was the woman's last photoshoot, and I wasn't sure fans would take kindly that a tabloid magnet was "recreating it".

There's a softness to Marilyn that just can't be found in Hollywood nowadays.

I wasn't offended so much as... "WUT". I mean, it has kind of a poor taste feel as it was done during a "death watch" period in Lohan's career so... yeah. Also, the fact she in no way resembles Monroe (freckled redhead to say nothing of the skinny frame) is... ick. She'd make a kick-ass Ann-Margret, though. I'd say famous photoshoots should never be recreated, but they can be done with fun and less... I don't want to say sacrilege but it really seemed like the shoot was trying to crown Lohan.

Interesting to note that during that shoot, Monroe was thirty-six and slowly dying from the prescription drugs she was addicted to (along with the booze) and yet she somehow still manages to look younger and healthier than Lohan, who despite being a drug addict was in her early twenties when the pics were snapped.

There seems to be a genuineness and talent of "old showbiz" that I think people are starting to demand back. Betty White's renewed career is a delight to hard workers everywhere, I think.

The capper on this more-than-you-ever-wanted-to-know comment: the fucking Baltimore Sun had the utter cajones to DARE to put Megan Fox in the same category as CLARA MOTHERFUCKING BOW. Shit, that untalented prima donna isn't even the next Angelina Jolie (I'm not terribly a Jolie fan, but I appreciate that she's an excellent actress and she was about the only good thing about the travesty that is the film adaption of Girl, Interrupted).

Well put. To relate yourself with Marilyn is just asking for laser-focused scrutiny. It's like those obnoxious music artists who vow to become bigger than The Beatles. I hate to be so dogmatic but there are just some lines you do not cross.

I think Lohan's being more unhealthy than Marilyn even in her last days says a lot about young Hollywood these days.

Megan Fox compared to Clara Bow? Now THAT'S offensive.
