Found Secret!
Dec. 29th, 2009 03:33 amToday was a wonderful day for many reasons, but a big one was finally getting the new PostSecret book I requested from the library, AND HAVING A SECRET FALL OUT.
I'd heard about this happening, about people dropping their secrets into PostSecret books at bookstores and therefore someone getting "an extra secret", but it makes much more sense that someone would do it at a library. Anyway, here it is:

This is a photograph glued on top of a Chicago postcard.

It reads "My Grandmother said I was the most likely of all her grandkids, to get sucked into a cult. That hurts, even thirty years later."
I'm not gonna lie, I teared up (I despise the fact that this past year I've seemed to have an ability to cry like I've never had before) both at the fact I was holding a secret someone entrusted to a stranger and at the secret itself. It just seems so, for lack of a better word, magical.
So, person-who-left-this-secret-who-barring-some-bizarre-circumstance-is-on-my-f-list, thanks for sharing your secret and I hope you find peace and closure. ♥
On a practical matter, I did have to think about what to do with it, before realizing I of course have to leave it with the book (it's part of the book now, isn't it, so it's library property anyway). I'm thinking of maybe adding a secret of my own regarding religion, if for nothing else than in the spirit of fair play.
