Alice in Wonderland, the 1903 Version

EXQUISITE. Do not adjust your volume; it has no sound. Perhaps one of our talented vid makers can score it?

::geeks out in utter bliss:: This is fabulous ♥ I love the messy quality of the old old film, and the simple 'special effects' ([livejournal.com profile] copperbadge once mentioned how great special effects were when they were supposed to be 'symbolic' to encourage the imagination instead of the CGI saturation we get now). For some reason, I guess the animal costmes, it also reminds me of the 1935 Midsummer night's dream (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Qs7HVhNdME) with Jimmy Cagney.

Sadly, I have zero musical skills, otherwise scoring this would be a fun project :)

I was happily geeking out myself! ^_^ And agreed on symbolism versus CGI saturation (although I think Peter Jackson manages to do both somehow? I really loved Heavenly Creatures).

I did get the Midsummer Night's Dream vibe. ^_^ Also, the first Silent version of The Wizard of Oz (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GoRKha4fAjM&feature=related)

Truly mesmerizing and sufficiently creepy.

The white rabbit costume especially gave me the jitters.
