Okay, I present this information for you all to make of it what you will.

Whilst I was flipping through the latest Northern Sun catalog, I ran across a curious looking t-shirt. Now I'd been especially wary of Northern Sun after I'd seen them carrying Ron Paul merchandise earlier this year (the same Ron Paul with the medieval social agenda that includes interesting policies on GLBT rights, environmental protection, and is the self-proclaimed "an unshakable foe of abortion" that has repeatedly attempted to overturn Roe vs Wade) and their filing of feminist buttons/bumper stickers/t-shirts under the section "Feminist/Women's Issues" (bold mine) since we know feminism only affects women right?

But I see this t-shirt :

and go, "Wait a minute.... is that... is that the planes hitting the WTC towers?! IN A CARTOON?!"

Maybe I'm overreacting. And I realize this is in reference to the (ugh) "9/11 Truth Movement", which is, aptly put and if nothing else, a conspiracy theory. But a cutesy cartoon of the plane hitting one of towers? That's.... it strikes me as sooooo not fucking right.
To dismiss the mass murder of thousands on a cutesy shirt that also features alien abduction? It just strikes me as not right. I've been debating whether or not to contact Northern Sun:

No, I agree. It's not only really... I don't know... almost creepy and just makes you feel slightly greasy, but soon and... hell I don't even think you could make a shirt making fun of the JFK assination yet.

I think I'm with you on this. While I myself wouldn't complain, because simply buying and wearing the t-shirt will proclaim you an enormous douchebag, I agree it's in poor taste. But then again, all conspiracy theories of 9/11 makes bile rise in my throat.

There's a wonderful article on conspiracy theories by Charlie Brooker (http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2008/jul/14/september11.usa) that I love. If anyone ever tries to talk to me about them, I will send them this.

Don't worry, that also strikes me as "not fucking right".

Then again, it seems like one of those "cool" shirts people wear for the shock factor, than you know, actually freaking knowing what they're wearing.

I think the best way to go about this is to simply not buy it, maybe not even give Northern Sun anymore business. If some very uninformed person wants to wear it, it's their ignorant bliss.
