Please Someone Stop Me......

Da Rules
1. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random
The first article title on the page is the name of your band.

2. http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3
The last four words of the very last quote is the title of your album.

3.http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days/
The third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.

4.Use your graphics program of choice to throw them together
[I used this], and post the result as a comment in this post. Also, pass it along in your own journal because it's more amusing that way.

Photobucket

And that was, I shit you not, the actual fuckin' third photo.
This is my favorite meme ever (is it that obvious?) and I am eternally grateful to [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] for finding it.

Anything That Moves?

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

If you are unfamiliar with the whole Post Secret phenomenon, it started with a guy doing a community art project and it spread. On the website, it lists the rules like this:

You are invited to anonymously contribute your secrets to PostSecret. Each secret can be a hope, regret, funny experience, unseen kindness, fantasy, belief, fear, betrayal, erotic desire, confession, or childhood humiliation. Reveal anything - as long as it is true and you have never shared it with anyone before.

Create your 4-by-6-inch postcards out of any mailable material. If you want to share two or more secrets, use multiple postcards. Put your complete secret and image on one side of the postcard.

You can see some of them on Flickr by searching for "post secret" in the search bar. They're kind of beautiful, actually.

Anyway, the "post secret" thing has gotten understandably popular and spawned imitators, and several LJ comms have sprung up. Whilst wandering through some looking for the "official" comm for the actual project, I stumbled across this and I was struck by the bigoted and downright cruel remarks about bisexuality. No, not "downright cruel". "Enthusiastically ignorant". What utter scum people can be when they think they are anonymous. And how sad that that kind of stupidity/hatred/bigotry is not only from "outsiders" but also from members of the GLBT community who are supposed to be on "our side". Jesus!

Again, I whinge back to the now-defunct mag Anything That Moves's gorgeous mission statement (scroll down, it's beneath my ranting) that helped me so much and I think more people should see.
