Squeeee!!! And I must recommend The Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler, it's the book that made me want to live in an art museum even more so.
Oooh, that looks good! I may have to see if it's snatchable by the library. What it is about children's books that make me still love them? I guess a good book is a good book.
Ever read The Wednesday Witch (http://www.amazon.com/Wednesday-Witch-Ruth-Chew/dp/082340210X)? The little girl gets a dollhouse and a miniature witch (a regular witch who can shrink down to size) and her cat (also shrinkable) move in. A LITTLE little black cat!!! Too adorable. When I read it, it made me gaze longingly at my dollhouse. Also, the witch rode a vacuum cleaner, which delighted me.
Ugh, "Glenda" as Glinda indeed! I will always have a soft spot for the world of L. Frank Baum in all its manifestations. And the fact Wicked the musical is apparently wonderful (so sayeth Liz and Claire) as was the book (so sayeth me ^_^). It's been panned by most, but ever see Return to Oz? It was never meant to "compete" with the Judy Garland version, it's really based on the book. Good stuff!
